Two No.1 Squadron Hawker Siddeley Harrier GR.1s during Exercise SNOWY OWL, a field deployment exercise held in March 1972 in a German Forrest. Following a sortie, the Harriers are positioned back in their hides and readied for another flight.

1957: The McDonnell F-101B Voodoo, the two-seat version of the original Voodoo, flies for the first time.
JASDF (Tactical Fighter Training Group, hikoukyoudougu) is the aggressor unit of the Air Tactics Development Wing of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force based at Komatsu Air Base in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan.
Bartini-Beriev-VVA-14. Only 2 ever made.The aircraft's first flight was held on 4 September 1972. At that time, the prototype would not yet be equipped with a pontoon for water landing. The addition of the pontoon allowed the VVA-14 to land in the sea. In addition, aircraft can efficiently hover along the surface of the water. The VVA-14 has two turbojet engines in addition to 12 turbofan engines. The aircraft logged a total of 103 flight hours over 107 times before the project was canceled following Bartini's death.
