F15S/MTD or STOL was a NASA led project to experiment with super maneuverability in modern aircraft. It had aggressive canards on the front and vertical thrust vectoring 2D nozzles at the rear. Alongside this, NASA also experimented with F14 Tomcats and F/A18 Hornets.
