This Supermarine Stranraer was stationed at RCAF Patricia Bay from August 1940 until December 1942. It was used as both an aircraft for aircrew training, and for coastal/submarine patrols. One Stranraer was dispatched along with 5 Royal Canadian Navy ships to search for the Japanese submarine I-26 after it shelled the Estevan Point Lighthouse on June 20, 1942.

The Avro Canada CF-105 Arrow was a delta-winged interceptor aircraft designed and built by Avro Canada. The CF-105 held the promise of Mach 2 speeds at altitudes exceeding 50,000 feet (15,000 m) and was intended to serve as the Royal Canadian Air Force's (RCAF) primary interceptor into the 1960s and beyond.[3]

The Lockheed P-3 Orion is a four-engined, turboprop anti-submarine and maritime surveillance aircraft developed for the United States Navy and introduced in the 1960s. Lockheed based it on the L-188 Electra commercial airliner. The first Canadian operational flight of a RCAF Block IV CP-140 Aurora was completed in February out of 14 Wing Greenwood to exercise upgraded capabilities and start full aircrew training.
