This Supermarine Stranraer was stationed at RCAF Patricia Bay from August 1940 until December 1942. It was used as both an aircraft for aircrew training, and for coastal/submarine patrols. The Lockheed P-3 Orion is a four-engined, turboprop anti-submarine and maritime surveillance aircraft developed for the United States Navy and introduced in the 1960s. Lockheed based it on the L-188 Electra commercial airliner. The first Canadian operational flight of a RCAF Block IV CP-140 Aurora was completed in February out of 14 Wing Greenwood to exercise upgraded capabilities and start full aircrew training.
