This Supermarine Stranraer was stationed at RCAF Patricia Bay from August 1940 until December 1942. It was used as both an aircraft for aircrew training, and for coastal/submarine patrols. One Stranraer was dispatched along with 5 Royal Canadian Navy ships to search for the Japanese submarine I-26 after it shelled the Estevan Point Lighthouse on June 20, 1942.

7,500 horsepower per engine, times three; this helicopter is a three-engine beast. When the USMC needs to haul ass and haul it fast, be it armoured vehicles, artillery, or tens of thousands of pounds of gear straight from a ship to a hot LZ, they call in the CH-53K, the King Stallion.
