Oldest airworthy Catalina flies again. After seven years of restoration work by American Aero Services, New Smyrna Beach (FL) Consolidated-Vultee PBY-5A Catalina N459CF (c/n 300) took to the air again on 7 July 2026. For many of our readers (especially the Dutch) this amphibian, once US Navy BuNo 2459, is an old acquaintance as she used to fly in the Netherlands as PH-PBY.
