U.S. Navy has unveiled its new AIM-424 LRAAM “Malice” long-range air-to-air missile at the Tailhook Symposium on August 22. According to the Navy, AIM-424 LRAAM (Long Range Air to Air Missile) is a next-generation missile intended “to strengthen fleet defense and maintain a decisive air domain overmatch against advanced threats”.The missile, with an operational range of over 250 nm (463 km), is currently under development by Raytheon and is reportedly in its flight testing phase, designed for integration on the Navy’s current F/A-18E/F Super Hornet and F-35C Lightning II fighter jets, as well as its future F/A-XX next-generation fighter aircraft.
