Amazing fact about this image! This picture was taken at almost 15 kilometers over Ireland's sea in April 1985. It depicts the Concorde flying at Mach 2, approximately 1350 miles per hour. A small fighter jet approached it and escorted it for a few minutes, then the pilot took this picture before flying away, making this the only picture of the Concorde flying at such speed. At this height, the curvature of the earth is visible and the sky begins to darken even at daylight.
