Lancaster bomber returns with extensive flak damage from the raid on the German panzer training barracks at Mailly Le Camp, in north central France; 5 May 1944. The raid was successful, however 42 bombers out of an attacking force of 346 Lancasters and 14 Mosquitoes were shot down.
