Sailors transport an F-18 training jet onto the flight deck during a fast cruise aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68). The fast cruise consists of equipment tests, simulations, scenarios, which refresh and train Sailors for underway periods. Nimitz is currently undergoing a planned incremental availability maintenance period at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.

The tail code “DY” indicates it is assigned to the 7th Bomb Wing at Dyess Air Force Base in Texas.B-1B Lancers have been actively deployed to RAF Fairford in the UK for training and bomber task force missions as recently as April and May 2026.
