Vought V-173 "Flying Pancake" Designed by Charles H. Zimmerman to create a STOL (Short Take Off and Landing) naval fighter, it was the prototype for the X5U-1, which was never flown due to jet development. The V-173 is at the Frontiers of Flight Museum in Dallas, TX, on loan from the Smithsonian.
